ADHD looks different at different ages. Everyone has some of these traits sometimes; an assessment is worth considering when they are frequent, started in childhood, and affect school, work or relationships.

Why ADHD is often missed in adults and girls?
Many adults were never diagnosed as children. They may have been quiet and inattentive rather than hyperactive, able to compensate in school, or grown up when ADHD was less understood. Girls and women are underdiagnosed. Years without answers can lead to anxiety, low mood and low self-worth alongside the ADHD itself.
1. A Multidisciplinary Team, Not a Single Practitioner
ADHD care here involves a consultant psychiatrist, psychologists, and a remedial educator working together — coordinated care under one roof.
2. In-House Psychological Assessment
Most clinics in Thane refer ADHD assessment elsewhere. Mannshakti CMW Centre conducts ADHD, IQ, and learning-disorder assessments in-house, so diagnosis and treatment planning happen faster and stay coordinated.
3. Evidence-Based, Not One-Remedy
Treatment draws on psychotherapy/CBT, medication only where clinically appropriate (lowest effective dose, regularly reviewed), and lifestyle coaching — not a single-modality approach.
4. Care Across the Lifespan
Assessment and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults — many adult patients are diagnosed here for the first time in their 30s or 40s.
ADHD Assessment in Majiwada: Psychiatrist, Psychologists and Remedial Educator Together
An accurate ADHD diagnosis needs more than one appointment and more than one point of view. At Mannshakti CMW Centre, the full assessment is done in-house by a team working together.
Because diagnosis and treatment happen at the same centre, the findings go straight into the plan without a separate referral for testing.
Our psychologists help you build practical systems — time management, organisation, task completion — and address the anxiety and low self-esteem that often accompany ADHD.
Dr. Mohanty prescribes and monitors medication where clinically indicated. We review regularly and always use the lowest effective dose.
Coaching & Lifestyle Strategies
Sleep, exercise, nutrition, and routine have a significant impact on ADHD symptoms. We give practical, realistic guidance.
Treatment follows international guidelines (NICE, UK, and the American Academy of Pediatrics) and is matched to age, severity and family preference. Every plan is discussed with you before it starts.

Do you see children and adults from Balkum, Kapurbawdi and Ghodbunder Road? Yes. Many families from these areas come to us. Appointments are needed; call 9820550228 to book.
What are the early signs of ADHD in children? Difficulty sitting still, trouble following instructions, frequent forgetfulness, losing things, difficulty waiting their turn, and unfinished schoolwork despite trying. Not every energetic child has ADHD; an assessment tells the difference.
At what age can ADHD be diagnosed? Most often around age 6 to 7, once behaviour can be compared with same-age peers at school. It can be identified earlier in some children, or for the first time in adulthood.
What does the assessment involve? A detailed clinical interview, standardised rating scales from home and school (or from the adult and a family member), and screening for related conditions such as learning difficulties, anxiety and sleep problems. Psychological and IQ testing is added when needed.
Will my child need medication? It depends on age and severity. For children under 6, parent training comes first. For school-age children, teenagers and adults with ADHD that affects daily life, guidelines recommend medication as part of treatment, alongside behavioural and school support. The decision is always made together with you, and medication is reviewed regularly.
Is ADHD medication safe? ADHD medicines are well studied in children and adults. Common side effects include reduced appetite and sleep difficulty, which are monitored and managed at follow-ups along with growth, heart rate and blood pressure.
Will my child outgrow ADHD? Usually not completely. Hyperactivity often reduces with age, while inattention and disorganisation tend to continue into the teens and adulthood. Treatment improves day-to-day functioning at school, work and home.
Can adults be diagnosed with ADHD for the first time? Yes. ADHD starts in childhood but is often recognised only in adulthood, especially in people who coped well at school. In adults it shows more as disorganisation, poor time management, impulsivity and emotional reactivity than obvious hyperactivity.
What causes ADHD? ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition with a strong genetic component, alongside other biological and environmental factors. It is not caused by poor parenting, and it is not laziness or lack of effort.
Can ADHD cause anxiety or low self-esteem? Yes, particularly when it goes unrecognised for years. We assess and treat these together with the ADHD.
